Rehb has walked the lands of Roshik for countless years. As a deva, he can recall legacy of valiant battles against demons, devils and the other forces of darkness – a legacy that reaches back well before any other race walked the face of the land. Remembering many past lives is as natural to a deva as flying is to the fabled Minotaur Monks of the North.

What bothers Rehb is not the lives he can remember, but the one that he cannot.

Past life after past life he has followed Avandra’s call, bringing change and fortune to the land. The one past life that he cannot recall has nagged at the corner of his thoughts for centuries. If the events of that lifetime did not serve the needs of the gods, why did they allow him to continue reliving the endless cycle of rebirth? If the gods were satisfied with his actions, why do they prevent him from remembering? Was he reborn as a rakshasa, or worse? Were the events so terrible that the gods were forced to wipe his memory to prevent him from going mad?

These are the questions that always plague his mind, but they are most potent immediately after each reincarnation.

Rehb started his current life roughly one month before our story began. He awoke on the Isle of Nohneve just south of Sarathel. He began his life as he had each one prior – by tending to the shrine of Avandra that happened to be nearby. However, he was so focused on his thoughts and getting his bearings that he did not hear the pirates creeping up behind him.

The pirates eventually grew tired of tormenting him – they found his staunch opposition to slavery quite amusing, given that he was locked in their brig – and decided to take him to Sarathel to sell with their other captives. They knew they could always fetch a hefty sum for a slave of his talent, especially with the Iron Circle always looking for powerful slaves to guard their dig sites and caravans. However, they grew careless one evening and Rehb was able to escape. For a few days he wandered the streets of Sarathel, attempting to discover a way to rescue the other slaves. Unfortunately he was unaware of the pirate spy who had trailed him, and who led the Iron Circle to the Sign of the Three Coins that evening to capture him (along with the rest of the heroes).
